Birthday Giveaway

I love to volunteer, give back, and help out any way I can. I’m a firm believer in people sharing their talents to make the world a brighter place. If you can put a smile on someone’s face, they are more likely to do that to someone else. It’s all about paying it forward. 🙂

SO, my birthday is coming up and I would like to give back by donating a free session to one lucky winner!  Sessions are limited to family, engagement and things of the like, not wedding day photography. All you have to do is post a comment on this blog post with your favorite birthday memory and then the name of the person you are nominating for the session.  The contest ends November 5 at midnight. I will then use a random number generator to select a comment number from all the entries and voila, we will have a winner!

The winner will be announced on my birthday, November 6.  My present to you.

**TIP: have your friends and family nominate as well to increase the nominees’ odds!

Best of luck to all and I can’t wait to read about everyone’s birthday memories!

  • Kacey MacDonald - My favorite birthday memory is my 21st birthday. We always celebrate my grandfather’s and my birthday together because they are 3 days and fifty years apart. It was great because my grandparents spoiled me with dinner at Ruth Chris; plus, I got to have my first legal drink with him. He’s really special to me because he is my hrandfather, my godfather, and legally my father because he adopted me. I would love to give him a family photo session because family means so much to him and because we are not sure how much longer we will have him and my grandfather.ReplyCancel

  • shawna - well, this is not the happiest on birthday memories….but is one i can NEVER forget!!

    side note…God love my hubby!!

ok, my hubby has the worst memory on dates. worse then me. i said nothing to remind him of my birthday. i simply put it on the calender that is located on our fridge. the morning of my birthday, i did not expect any happy birthday from him. we are both dysfunctionsl in the early am hours. yet i said nothing. hoping to get a happy birthday kiss of something before he left for work, nothing. still yet, waiting for a happy birthday text from him, nothing. other family and friends blew up my phone…but not my hubby. so finally on my lunchbreak i gave him a call, still not planning to mention my birthday or anything… my hubby answers, “what do you want? i am busy right now and i can’t talk!” steamed to the point of tears, i said “fine” and hung up. i then proceeded to text him back saying, “a simple happy birthday was all i really wanted from you today.” in less then an hour, i had 2 dozen roses with a box of chocolate delivered to me at my job. i can not for the life of me remember what the card said…but you have to know that my hubby NEVER sends me flowers, and rarely next to never gives me flowers. yup, my hubby realized he “f”ed up and has not forgotten my birthday since.

as for the photo session gift… ,my family. we do not have one and would love one done.

  • Carole Ward - So I know I live in Oregon, but it would still be awesome to somehow win this. Maybe its the motivation you need to come out and visit.

One of my favorite birthday memories is actually of Taylor (my nieces) third or fourth birthday. I made her a book about when she was born and her growing up. She was to little to really understand it, but the illustrations were stellar.

If I won, I would want pictures of Taylor and Zander, cause they are both growing up so quick.ReplyCancel

  • Charles MacDonald - My favorite birthday memory is when my wife and my in-laws surprised me with a vacation to the Keys. We spent the days fishing and snorkeling. Carissa, my daughter, loved playing with the shrimp we were using for bait. I fell in love with the spot, and it ended up being where my wife and I got married last year, surprisingly on your birthday.

I’d like to nominate my wife, Kacey McCloskey MacDonald, for this photo session because she wants nothing more than to have a photo session with the whole family. Carissa and Charley are lucky enough to have met their great grandparents, and I know that she would love pictures of the children with them so they can remember them.ReplyCancel

  • Keri Lynn Kosier - I would like to nominate my daughter, Marina, for a birthday session! She will be turning 3 November 15!

My favorite birthday memory with Marina is DEFINITELY the day she was born, November 15, 2008 at 8:24pm weighing in at 8lb14oz! This birthday of hers will remain in my memory until the day I am no long on this earth. That day changed my life like no other…I became a mommie for the first time! It was the hardest day I’d ever have to endure but I would not give it up for anything.

And so, on every November 15 since (YES, I know there have only been 3 so far), I am brought back to that very special day…the day Marina was born and graced my life FOREVER! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Jessica Ryba - On my 21st birthday my now hubby, Jimmy, surprised me by insisting that we go out for my birthday dinner 2 weeks early. Ok… well, who am I to argue, right?? 🙂 he took me out to a nice dinner in City Place. Before we even ordered he couldn’t wait any longer and wanted to give me my present. Needless to say I was very surprised at that special blue box he pulled out! Inside was a beautiful Tiffany heart necklace with the words ‘I love you’ inscribed! We had been dating 6 months and this was the first those magic three words were said. As was thrilled over the moon as I had been waiting months hoping my feelings would be reciprocated! As I said, he is now my husband and I like to think we are living happily ever after 🙂 Bedt birthday ever!
I am nominating my little family as I would love to have beautiful pictures taken to last a lifetime!ReplyCancel

  • Krystal - I want to nominate my god-daughter Chloe. My fondest birthday memory is from the first week of her birth. It is not my best memory but it is the best reminder that with her little spitfire attitude and great confidence, nothing will stop this child. I also want to nominate her because her mother has spent money on other photographers who in no way compare to your skills, and she has received poor photographs. This family is so deserving of this gift!ReplyCancel

  • Brooke Smith - I would like to nominate KACEY MACDONALD.

My favorite birthday memory (or so my Mom tells me) is when I had 15 4-year olds over at my house and 10 minutes before I got to cut the cake, my huge doberman put his front paws on the table, causing the cake to fall on top of him. My Mom said I was devastated. = )ReplyCancel

  • Tish MacDonald - I would like to nominate kacey MacDonald.

My favorite birthday would be my 18th birthday, just graduated from High School and from nursing school, mom and dad let me have a party with live band (friends from school) they were great.ReplyCancel

  • Kathy M - I would like to nominate Kacey MacDonald McCloskey to win the photography package. My favorite birthday memory, like many others that posted on here isn’t my own. I was volunteering at the St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital with the cancer patients. One little boy named Matthew was turning 2. Kacey and I came in with handmade birthday cards, balloons, a bunch of games and some cupcakes for all the kids. Those who weren’t bedridden could play the games and the other ones we brought musical instruments for them to play with.ReplyCancel

  • Marie Chism - I vote for Kasey MacDonald. My favorite birthday memory is when my mother graduated nursing school around her birthday. I took her to the beauty parlor had her hair done, took her shopping for new outfit…then took her to the playboy club in St Petersburg Florida (before it closed) for dinner. The look on her face was priceless all decked out and out on the town. <3ReplyCancel

  • Ashley Foreman - I nominate Victoria Wallis.

All of my birthdays totally rock because I have the best pals and family EVER. But I do have 2 very best favorites…one including an amazing feast complete with bevis and butthead…and the other a room full of balloons and my face on the front page…oh and a birthday tree!

Victoria Wallis needs her picture taken. shes very pretty. take her picture 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Lauren Galvin - For 15 years I have been blessed with a best friend that has made each of my birthdays warm and wonderful. That is why I’d like to nominate Victoria Wallis. Although She has been there to make all my birthdays great, there is one in particular that comes to mind. My 18th birthday was a special one, I had tickets to my favorite bands concert and a meet n greet pass and had noone to go with. It wasn’t a band that Victoria liked but she gladly came with me and we had a great time. She snapped photos as I met the band. She knew it was important to me and smiled the whole time. She made that day and every birthday a special memory. She’s the most selfless person I know and she’s about to have her first baby. Theres noone I can think of who deserves a this prize more than her. I’d love for her to feel as beautiful and special as she has always made my world.ReplyCancel

  • Gail McCloskey - My favorite birthday memory was when my husband took me to Boston. We had won the tickets at a boy scout auction not knowing what a treat we were in for. We ate at an exquisite restaurant “The Oak Room” (so fabulous that I bought a knife set from them). I would like to nominate Kacey McCloskey MacDonald.ReplyCancel

  • Joe McCloskey - My favorite birthday celebration would have to be two years ago. We went to Spoto’s. It was absolutely fantastic because we just ordered what we wanted not worrying about pricing. We ate so much delicious seafood, and for desert, one of the absolute best bread puddings ever. I nominate Kacey McCloskey MacDonald.ReplyCancel

  • patricia - I would like to nominate Shawna Leon to receive a free photo session. My favorite birthday was my years ago when I was living in Spokan, Washington. A group of us went out to Clinkendaggers. It was just a group of friends having fun.ReplyCancel
